“Are you my Father?” is a story where a young lamb named Trip decides to leave his lonely pasture to find his real dad. He meets many animals on the farm but none are his real dad. Finally, after wandering, getting lost, and feeling sad, he meets his true Father.
The genesis of the story began in April 2019. We visited Leaping Lamb Farm in Alsea, two nieces, a nephew, myself, and my mom. As we toured the farm, and as we met the owner Scottie Jones, baby Trip, and many of the different animals, a story began to form in my mind. In December of 2019, the story was finished.
In October of 2020, Scottie allowed us to return to take some photos, and she contributed photos herself of the peacock and a few others. Acacia Graves (my niece) borrowed Bob Hibbs’ camera, and took over 2000 photos! Trip was a teenage sheep, and the ram Sven (his father) was still there, as well the dusty donkey, the orange dog, and the turkey.
I have two more stories in mind. One will be about the parable of storing up seeds. The other will be about an apple tree, and something to do with the 3 in 1, Father, Son & Holy Spirit.
