Dear Good Shepherd Members and Friends,
As you are aware, the church has been closed for all organized activities. With that in mind, the Council met Friday afternoon, 3/13 with Pastor Laura to determine what services should/will continue to be available during this time.
Food Pantry – We feel strongly that the food pantry and feeding those in our community who need assistance should continue. We will accomplish this by reducing our hours and days that folks can come to the church. We will be preparing “sacked” goods for drive up disbursements only on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10 – 12. We will still need pantry contributions and this will be handled the same way. All parishioners should plan to drop off the supplies without entering the church. For more specifics if you are interested in helping or are in need, contact Karen Grenz. (541-905-3200)
Outreach to those in need – We also want everyone to know that the council is setting up a point of contact to make sure any congregational member’s needs are met. If any parishioner needs an errand ran or help (medicine, groceries) during this suspended service time, contact Pat McConnel. She will determine from a list of council members how best to meet the need. If you want to be part of the resource list or need help please call. (541-619-5336 or 541-926-4930)
The Church Council plans on meeting again on March 24 to assess how we are doing. If you have any concerns, please contact any Council member and we will make sure the concern is discussed. We will miss the comradery of each and everyone one of you and are looking forward to seeing everyone when this event is in our rear-view mirror, very soon.
God’s Peace be with you,
GSLC Council
